ECU Metals Symposium: Material Topics

Jean Campbell - Wednesday, January 11, 2012

I'm all packed up and ready to go to Greenville, North Carolina today. I'll be spending two days with the folks in the Textiles department at East Carolina University. I get to share my Peyote Buttons class, and I'm just delighted to be able to spend two days because we'll get to go sculptural with the design.

Then I'll spend the weekend with the Metals department folks at ECU, who are hosting Material Topics, a great symposium filled with jewelry-making and other metal-smithy workshops and lectures, one of which I get to give on Saturday.

I'm really looking forward to this trip because I get to see my friend, Bob Ebendorf (who is a professor there). It'll also be fun to teach in a university setting...something I've never experienced. I'll report back as things unfold!

Hi Jean: Your workshop was the absolute best and we were so happy to be able to spend that time with you. You are a great and generous teacher. Hope we get to work together again in the future. We really had the best time and thank you Mark for the cupcakes!!!
I have spent the rest of the weekend playing with my beads.
